Professional Massage therapy Closer than you think: Stone’s Throw Massage Therapy
When Stone’s Throw Massage Therapy approached me to help them with a logo design, they were still in the middle of their naming process, had a steady roster of clients and were ready to expand. All they required was a logo and a concise design system to take their visual voice to the next level.
LOGO DRAFTS
The logo for Stone’s Throw Massage Therapy needed to show a modern, homey, holistic and professional vibe of a mobile RMT business–a professional massage therapist that is a mere “stone’s throw” away.
Taking cues from the client and working together on the name really helped in getting to the core of their brand identity and helping them to realize their potential in terms of branding.
Each logo draft took into consideration all of these aspects of the massage business.
Logo & Icon Designs
The final logo uses a beautiful image of a pair of hands and a glowing stone. The hands look as though they have provided the power to the stone and are now releasing it as an allusion to hot stone massage and the transformative power of massage therapy.
The various blue colours have been proven to be calming as they remind people of the ocean’s clear waters lined with bright sandy beaches and open skies. The fonts also have spa-like modern qualities.
The icons represent various movements associated with massage therapy–effleurage, petrissage, and tapotement. One icon has been developed to represent hot stone massage as well.
STATIONERY & Graphics
The logo wasn’t the only piece designed for this project. I also designed a stationery package that helps create brand consistency and professionalism in communications, as well as a small collection of graphics, that was proposed for future communications, swag and advertisements.

THE RESULT
The result is a logo that is calming, modern, and professional, as well as a small collection of digital assets and icons for future brand expansion. Stone’s Throw Massage Therapy was presented with a visual voice for their mobile massage business that resonates with their clients.
